Shipping and orders
How much is shipping?
Shipping is free on every US order. Orders to Canada pay the rate shown at checkout, and any import duties, taxes or fees are paid by the buyer.
When will my order ship?
In-stock orders placed before 3 PM Central, Monday to Friday, ship the same business day. Anything placed after that ships the next business day. A few items carry a longer lead time, and the product page tells you before you buy. Current status is on our lead times page.
How long does delivery take?
Most US orders arrive 3 to 5 business days after they ship. We ship UPS or USPS, whichever runs best to your area, and you get a tracking number by email once your order leaves Texas.
What is shipping protection?
Optional coverage you can add in the cart, $5 to $15 depending on the order total. If a package is lost, damaged or stuck in transit, we replace the order or refund it. Coverage ends when tracking shows it delivered. Details on the shipping protection page.
Can I cancel my order?
Yes, within 12 hours of purchase as long as it has not shipped. Items with a stated lead time cannot be canceled. Email sales@southernlumen.com with your order number as soon as you can.
A size I want is sold out. Will it come back?
Sold out lights stay listed with a Notify me button. Leave your email and we will send you a note when it is back in stock.
Returns
What is your return policy?
You have 30 days from delivery to start a return. Items need to be new and unused, and returns are approved at our discretion. An approved return carries a 15% restocking fee on the base price, and return shipping is on you. Email sales@southernlumen.com with your order number to start one. Can I return wheel lights?
Yes. Wheel lights take the same 30-day terms as everything else. A return has to be new and unused, so read the install guide before the truck goes on stands.
Can I return a gift card?
Gift cards are final sale and can't be returned or refunded.
Warranty
What is the warranty?
Rock lights, valance lights, trac bar lights, starlight headliners, wiring harnesses and accessories carry a limited lifetime warranty. Wheel lights are covered for 12 months from purchase. Limited means faults in the light itself, not collision, misuse or an install that skipped the instructions. Full terms are on the warranty page.
Do I have to register my warranty?
Yes. Register within 30 days of your order date with your order number and photos of the lights installed on your truck. You get a registration number on the spot. Keep it, because a claim cannot be filed without it.
How do I file a warranty claim?
Use the claim form with your registration number, what went wrong and photos of the fault. We answer by email, usually within two business days. Approved claims get the same light, or the closest current one, and we cover shipping on the replacement. Removal and reinstall labor is not covered.
What can void the wheel light warranty?
Two install steps are warranty conditions: use the supplied hardware, and leave slack in the wiring. Skip either one and a claim can be denied.
Rock lights
How many rock lights do I need?
Four covers the wheel wells, one per corner. Eight adds the frame rails and is the setup most people run. Twelve to twenty lights the whole underbody. The rock light sizing guide walks through it.
Which rock light size should I buy?
The 9 LED fits tight spots and fills gaps. The 24 LED is the practical middle for a stock height truck. The 36 and 48 LED put more light on the ground for trucks that sit higher. On a lifted truck, size up before you add more lights. Compare them in which size to buy.
Do I have to drill to mount rock lights?
Standard mounting bolts on, with two bolts and nuts per light in the box. To skip the drill, pick the Magnetic option when you order, or add our magnetic mounts, which fit the 9, 24, 36, 48, 104 and 108 LED. The 90, 128 and 160 LED have magnets built into the housing, so they need no mount kit. Magnets need clean steel to hold. They will not hold on aluminum or plastic, and heavy undercoating or rust weakens the grip.
Are rock lights waterproof?
Yes. Every rock light we sell is rated IP68, dust tight and fully submersible. IP68 is tested in still water, so keep a pressure washer wand back from the seams and connectors. More in what kills a rock light.
Are rock lights legal?
In Texas, steady pure white or amber accent lighting is generally allowed. Flashing or strobing on public roads, and red or blue showing to the front, are not, so save the strobe modes for off the road. Rules change by state and city, so check yours. Will rock lights drain my battery?
Not a healthy battery in normal use. LEDs draw very little. Wired straight to the battery they stay on until you switch them off, so turn them off when you park for the night, or wire them to a key-on source so they shut off with the truck. More in do rock lights drain your battery.
Wheel lights
Will wheel lights fit my wheels?
Yes. There is no wheel size to pick. The ring is adjustable and bolts to the brake dust shield behind the rotor, so one kit fits any wheel size and carries over to your next set of wheels. More in will wheel lights fit my wheels.
What does the wheel light install involve?
It is a brake job at all four corners. The wheel, brake caliper and rotor come off, and you drill mounting holes in the dust shield using the supplied brackets as a guide. Plan on 2 to 4 hours with a jack, jack stands, hand tools and a drill. Read the wheel light install guide before you order.
How do wheel lights work?
Each wheel gets an LED ring mounted on the dust shield behind the rotor, so the light comes from inside the wheel. The set is wired, not app controlled. Run it to a switched 12V source, an in-cab switch, or our Wiring Harness + Wireless Remote.
Which wheel light intensity do I need?
Start with ride height. Standard suits a truck at stock height. High Intensity is the step up once a lift or bigger wheels put the strip further from the ground. Extreme runs five rows for lifted trucks, and Ultimate runs seven for show trucks. Full breakdown in which wheel light intensity you need.
What does switchback mean?
White and amber in the same strip. Run white day to day and switch to amber when you want it. Our switchback trac bar lights go further, with a startup animation and a sequential amber turn signal. More in switchback explained.
Wiring and power
Do the lights just plug in?
No. Rock lights are hardwired, with 2-pin leads you wire to power. Wheel light and trac bar strips have quick connectors on the ends, but the set still has to be wired to a power source. Every setup needs a switched and fused 12V circuit, a factory upfitter switch, or our harness. Here is the full breakdown.
Do I need the wiring harness?
Not strictly. You can wire the lights to a switched and fused 12V circuit yourself. The harness is the easy way: it carries the relay, switch and fuse, adds a wireless remote with on and off plus 6 strobe modes, and one harness runs a set of rock lights, a set of wheel lights, or both on one truck.
What wire do I need?
Rock lights come with 2-pin leads, and 16 gauge wire carries a full set. Measure the route from the harness to your furthest light before you order, and leave a loop of slack anywhere two parts of the truck move. Payment and discounts
Do you offer financing?
Yes. Pay over time with Shop Pay Installments or Affirm. Pick one at checkout and you see the exact terms before you commit, and checking does not affect your credit. See the financing page.
Can I use more than one discount code?
No. One code per order, and codes do not work on items that are already marked down.
About us
Do you install lights?
No. We sell online and ship to you from Texas. Every kit is made to be installed at home, and our install guides walk each step with photos. If a shop is doing your wheel lights, it is brake work, so pick a shop that does brakes and hand them the two warranty conditions: supplied hardware and slack in the wiring.
