Starlights

Star count is density, not brightness. More fibers means a fuller sky and more routing work; fewer means a sparser, more deliberate pattern and a faster install. A useful way to decide: 800 reads as a clear night sky, 1200 reads as the Milky Way. If this is your first one, the lower count is markedly less fiddly. See starlight headliner design ideas.

Every kit is the starlight engine plus the fibers in the count you chose. The engine is the light source and the control; the fibers are what you route into the headliner. Ours runs 32 watts, against the 15 to 20 watts typical of the category, which matters more than star count for how vivid the effect reads at night. See the RGBW starlight headliner kit.

Color, twinkle and music sync all run from the included Bluetooth remote, so mount the engine somewhere you can reach it for wiring but never need to see again. Behind a trim panel is normal.

The install itself is straightforward, but getting to the headliner is not. Most people either drop the headliner or work with it in place through the existing gaps. Plan the pattern before a single fiber goes in: photograph the headliner and mark where you want density. Full detail in the starlight installation guide.
