Will Wheel Lights Fit My Wheels? What You Have to Measure

You do not measure anything. Southern Lumen wheel lights are sold with no wheel size option at checkout, and the ring bolts to the dust shield behind your brake rotor using brackets supplied in the kit.

Will these fit my wheels?

Yes, and there is nothing to select. Every kit covers all four wheels, and nothing in the range asks for a wheel diameter — where a kit has a size option at all, it describes the LED strip, not your wheel. Every wheel light we build fits any wheel size — the kit is DIY and sizes to your build, so there is no ring diameter to measure.

What do I have to measure before I order?

Nothing on the wheel. The measurement people expect to take, ring against wheel diameter, is not part of the job — the ring fastens to the dust shield behind the rotor, and you drill the shield to suit the brackets rather than matching the ring to a wheel. We publish no ring diameter and no wheel size range. What matters is behind the wheel, where the hardware goes:

• The dust shield. Steps 4 and 5 of the install guide mount the ring to the dust shield. That is the surface the kit needs.
• Whether you are willing to drill. Step 4 is explicit — use the provided brackets as a guide and drill mounting holes into the dust shield. There is no adhesive-only version of this install.

How does the ring actually mount?

Off comes the wheel, then the caliper, then the rotor, which exposes the dust shield. The ring sits evenly on the shield, the brackets act as the drill guide, and the supplied nuts and bolts hold it, with the wire and plug exiting at the top near the brake line. We rate the job moderate at 2–4 hours, and it is the most involved install we sell, so read the wheel light installation guide before you order.

What if I change wheels later?

The kit does not care. Nothing in it is sized to a wheel, so the same set carries over to your next wheel and tire package — it fits the wheels you have now and the ones you put on next. What does move with your build is output: once a lift or larger wheels put the strip further from the ground, High Intensity is the step up from Standard. What is covered if something fails?

Wheel lights and wiring harnesses carry six months of coverage from the date of purchase, shorter than the rest of the range and set out on the warranty page. It applies only if you register within 30 days of your order date, because a claim cannot be filed without the registration number. Two install steps are conditions of it: use the supplied hardware, and leave slack in the wiring for full steering and suspension movement.
