Switchback Wheel Light Installation Guide

IMPORTANT!

To ensure warranty coverage, please follow these instructions carefully. Wheel lights not installed as directed below may not qualify for warranty coverage.

1
Prepare the Installation Area

Position your vehicle on a secure, level surface, and safely jack up the vehicle to remove the wheels. Next, carefully remove the brakes and rotor to access the dust shield area. Position the wheel light ring, ensuring it is evenly spaced on the dust shield. Remember, each set includes two directional rings per side for optimal lighting.

Tip: For a clean wiring path, align the wires near the brake lines.
2
Secure the Wheel Light Rings

Using each bracket’s pre-drilled holes, securely bolt the ring to the dust shield. Ensure that the top of the ring, where the wire and plug emerge, is aligned at the top, closest to the brake line. Proper positioning is essential to maintain warranty eligibility.

Note: Position the bolts with the heads facing outward, and the threaded ends directed inward, toward the vehicle. This orientation provides clearance and stability.
3
Route Wiring with Ample Slack

Run the wires along your vehicle's brake lines, leaving enough slack to accommodate full steering and suspension movement. Ample slack helps prevent stress on solder points, ensuring a durable installation.

Reminder: Insufficient slack may pull connections loose, potentially voiding warranty coverage. Ensure slack for optimal performance.
4
Connect Power for Switchback Functionality

For Switchback functionality, connect the red and black wires to the positive and negative for normal white lighting. Connect the yellow wire to the positive for the switchback function. This yellow wire should be integrated with your turn signals, either through your mirror, headlight, taillight, or similar setup. We recommend connecting the right light to the right turn signal and the left light to the left turn signal for synchronized lighting.

Tip: Use weatherproof connectors to protect connections from the elements, ensuring durability and long-lasting performance.
5
Complete the Installation

With your switchback wheel lights securely bolted and connected, you're ready to light up the road with dynamic white and amber lighting. If you need assistance or have questions, please reach out at sales@southernlumen.com.

Tip: Check all connections periodically to ensure they remain secure and your lights perform at their best.
